Title: CICS Systems Programmer (Director, IC)
Location: Roanoke, TX (Hybrid)
Type: FTE, Direct Hire
Base Salary Range: Up to $155k plus 30% bonus
As a CICS Systems Programmer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of CICS trasaction servers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the performance, stability, and security of our CICS systems, and provide support for both day-to-day operations and major upgrades.
This is a Director level, Individual Contributor position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain CICS systems on z/OS mainframes, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Perform upgrades, patches, and apply maintenance fixes for CICS and associated software products.
- Monitor and troubleshoot CICS systems, analyzing performance issues and resolving production problems.
- Collaborate with application development teams to ensure CICS infrastructure supports business-critical applications.
- Implement security protocols and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Conduct disaster recovery planning and testing, ensuring system redundancy and data integrity.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for CICS configurations, procedures, and change management processes.
- Provide on-call support as required to troubleshoot and resolve critical issues in real-time.
- Collaborate with vendors and other support teams to ensure timely resolution of hardware and software issues.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a CICS Systems Programmer in a mainframe environment.
- Proficient in the installation, configuration, and support of IBM CICS Transaction Server for z/OS.
- Deep understanding of z/OS, JCL, VSAM, and other mainframe technologies.
- Experience with performance tuning and capacity planning for CICS environments.
- Familiarity with security best practices and tools such as RACF in a mainframe environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
