Oliver James has partnered with one of the leading global P&C insurance companies to bring on a new Controller. The Controller will oversee financial reporting (STAT and GAAP ) and operational ledger processes across the general ledger (local & group) including supporting ongoing process optimisation and working day timetable streamlining.
- Oversee ledger management for all company entities
- Oversee the Statutory Reporting function, including the preparation of NAIC Statutory Quarterly and Annual Statements
- Manage certain aspects of the month, quarter, and year-end close process to meet assigned deadlines; Ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled and analyzed monthly
- Review and analyze monthly financial reporting packets and annual financial statements for distribution to the executive leadership team
- Assist and support GAAP reporting for Consolidated (public) company
- Manage a small accounting team
- Communicate with external auditors regarding audited financial statements and other accounting and reporting issues
- Actively provide mentoring and coaching to accounting staff to increase the technical expertise and improve team strength
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
