Data Modelling Lead
Oliver James have been appointed to recruit for a Data Modelling Lead for a leading global Insurance business to build the Enterprise Data Model by defining the design and approach for the conceptual, logical and physical data model to enable the development of high quality data products.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain the Enterprise Data Model
- Develop and implement best practices for data modelling
- Analyse data product requirements and identify sources to support the modernisation programme and development of data products
- Ensure data meets the modelling standards, is aligned to our data management framework and enhance business objectives
- Advise the CDO on elevating literacy, engagement and competence across the business
- Present modelling results and recommendations to stakeholders
- Ensure product owners engage with the data model and underpin domains
Skills & experience:
- Extensive experience in modelling and able to synthesise complex data problems into conceptual, logical and physical models/solutions
- Strong stakeholder management, understanding the needs and requirements as well as ability to influence and communicate clearly and concisely
- Experience working with product development teams to support data requirements
- Strong understanding of enterprise modelling, and modelling approaches, tool and model repositories
- Experience using data modelling tools such as Visual Paradigm and SQL DBM
- Familiarity with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and Data Mesh concepts
- Knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles and practices
- Must have Insurance industry experience, understanding of the insurance life cycle and how a data model should be structured
