Job Description:
As a Data Steward in our energy division, you will be responsible for overseeing the governance, quality, and utilization of data within the organization. You will collaborate closely with business units, IT teams, and data analysts to ensure that our data systems are accurate, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. Your expertise will help drive data-driven insights and decisions that enhance our energy production and distribution processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the proper management and usage of data assets across the organization.
- Data Quality: Monitor and ensure data accuracy, consistency, completeness, and integrity across various systems, with a focus on key energy-related datasets (e.g., power generation, consumption, grid data).
- Metadata Management: Maintain comprehensive metadata documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage to ensure all stakeholders have a clear understanding of data sources and transformations.
- Compliance: Ensure all data management practices adhere to regulatory requirements, such as GDPR, energy market regulations, and internal data protection policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business users to ensure that data is available, accessible, and aligned with business objectives.
- Data Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues, coordinating with technical teams for remediation and ensuring timely and accurate data availability.
- Reporting & Monitoring: Create and manage dashboards and reports to track data quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Data Stewardship: Promote best practices in data stewardship and act as a key advocate for data-driven decision-making within the energy sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Management, Information Technology, Energy Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data management roles, preferably in the energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and regulatory compliance in the energy industry.
- Experience with energy-related data systems and technologies (e.g., SCADA, IoT, smart grid data).
- Familiarity with data management tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Talend) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent understanding of database management systems, SQL, and ETL processes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to data issue resolution.
- Knowledge of energy market regulations and compliance frameworks is a plus.
