I am working with a privately owned global Insurance company Manchester based who are going through an exciting transformation.
The role provides a great chance to keep building your career path as you will be one of the first on the ground at their Manchester Hub within a growing and collaborative environment.
As a Junior DBA you will have database administration and engineering skills, you will be joining a team of DBAs who are responsible for managing the SQL server database estate.
This role will require being on call during weekday evenings & weekends on a rotated basis.
Skills:
- SQL Server 2012 to 2022 and cloud technologies e.g. Azure SQL.
- SQL Server SSIS, SSRS and SSAS infrastructure
- Experience with Database internals, OS, Storage and Networks and SQL Server's Query Processor Fundamentals
- Good scripting skills (T-SQL, PowerShell)
- Data warehousing setup and support.
- Continuous Integration or Configuration Management tools
- Detect potential issues in the Database infrastructure and workload.
- Managing and migrating large volumes of data. Compression, partitioning and ETL
Beneficial not essential
- Experience within Finance / Insurance industry and tols like RMS, Remetrica etc.
- Good understanding of Storage and virtualisation technologies
