You will oversee the Finance control environment for both the UK and Irish entities, ensuring that all management, statutory and regulatory financial reporting is completed accurately and on time.

As the Financial Controller you will be the main Finance point of contact for the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of the month end close process in line with extremely tight reporting deadlines. Support the FP&A team with investigation of any variances to budget.
  • Review all balance sheet movements to ensure accurate month end reporting.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet review including analytical review and variance explanations.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis ensuring open items and unreconciled balances are tracked through to closure.
  • Oversee and manage annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Manage all other external reporting and regulatory reporting including FCA RMAR reporting.
  • Manage all required internal Group reporting.
  • Manage internal audit requirements.
  • Preparation of tax packs for group tax reporting.
  • Manage quarterly VAT returns for both UK and Irish entities.
  • Support the wider Finance function, as required e.g. with Ad hoc project work.
  • Continuous improvement to the systems, processes, and procedures which support the Finance function.
  • Support business wide Controllership initiatives and drive compliance culture across the business.
  • Work with the Head of Controllership to enhance internal controls and governance framework.
  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures are adequately documented, up to date and reflect any changes in accounting standards.
  • Work with other operational areas to understand, challenge and prepare for any operational changes which may have a financial impact.
  • Define and set clear objectives for Finance staff ensuring they are aligned with the Head of Controllership's overall objectives. Measure and manage performance of staff in line with existing performance management process.
  • Support, coach and develop staff helping them grow and flourish.
