A growing insurer is currently looking for a Group Head of Strategy to lead in Strategy, Development and Business Planning.

Strategy and Development

  • Work closely with Group MD and EXCO to proactively provide business insights and recommendations
  • Identify possible growth opportunities within the ASEAN market
  • Formulate strategy/business plan processes and work with Country Management to drive execution

Business Manager to Group MD

  • Provide proactive executive support to the Group MD in daily activities and facilitate effective management and leadership of the business
  • Oversee Board presentations, Regulatory presentations, senior stakeholder meeting presentations, and any other reports
  • Drive and coordinate the agenda for EXCO offsites and Townhall

Business Planning

  • Define the scope of the business plan in collaboration with Group MD and EXCO
  • Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the business plan
  • Review and revise the schedule with EXCO and all other involved parties
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the business plan will be evaluated at its completion
  • Prepare documents to ensure that all information is appropriately documented and secured
  • Monitor the progress and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the business plan
  • Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders on the progress

Leading the Business Facing PMO

  • Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritise, and develop projects.
  • Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritising tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
  • Analysing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
  • Providing financial reports and budget outlines to Executives.
  • Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards.
  • Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.
  • Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
  • Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in business/management
  • Min 10 years of experience in business and corporate strategy / consulting
  • Working experience with Strategy in General Insurance preferred
  • Consulting experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Sound understanding of the different functions of an insurance company
  • Strong understanding in the area of Group Insurance Business is an added advantage
  • Solid business analytics skills and business acumen
  • Strong inter-personal relationship
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Experience in working in a high-pressure environment and displaying excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills
