A growing insurer is currently looking for a Group Head of Strategy to lead in Strategy, Development and Business Planning.
Strategy and Development
- Work closely with Group MD and EXCO to proactively provide business insights and recommendations
- Identify possible growth opportunities within the ASEAN market
- Formulate strategy/business plan processes and work with Country Management to drive execution
Business Manager to Group MD
- Provide proactive executive support to the Group MD in daily activities and facilitate effective management and leadership of the business
- Oversee Board presentations, Regulatory presentations, senior stakeholder meeting presentations, and any other reports
- Drive and coordinate the agenda for EXCO offsites and Townhall
Business Planning
- Define the scope of the business plan in collaboration with Group MD and EXCO
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the business plan
- Review and revise the schedule with EXCO and all other involved parties
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which the business plan will be evaluated at its completion
- Prepare documents to ensure that all information is appropriately documented and secured
- Monitor the progress and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the business plan
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders on the progress
Leading the Business Facing PMO
- Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritise, and develop projects.
- Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritising tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
- Analysing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
- Providing financial reports and budget outlines to Executives.
- Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards.
- Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.
- Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
- Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in business/management
- Min 10 years of experience in business and corporate strategy / consulting
- Working experience with Strategy in General Insurance preferred
- Consulting experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Sound understanding of the different functions of an insurance company
- Strong understanding in the area of Group Insurance Business is an added advantage
- Solid business analytics skills and business acumen
- Strong inter-personal relationship
- Strong written and communication skills
- Experience in working in a high-pressure environment and displaying excellent planning, organisational and time-management skills
