The role will be responsible for assisting with: (1) working with project managers and Finance teams to prepare budget/forecast and track actuals and commitments, (2) liaising with respective project managers to plan, measure and track benefits and (3) preparing a consolidated financial project progress report for the programme leadership team.
Project accounting
- Work with project managers to manage project budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Work with the Finance team to obtain and track actuals and commitments for various projects under the Future Finance Programme.
- Work with project managers to plan, measure and track benefits.
- Administer and review project budget, forecast, actuals, commitments and benefits with a view to identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate.
Controls
- Administer a drawdown request process to monitor project expenditure against budget.
- Prepare and maintain cost and benefit tracking for various projects.
- Present all financial data in a transparent way and attend project and programme management meetings to present cost and benefit status.
- Identify and highlight any potential risk of cost overruns to the programme leadership team.
- Prepare materials for the Budget Review Committee.
- Work with project managers and procurement teams to ensure appropriate contract singing and procurement processes are followed.
- Ensure compliance with internal policy requirements.
General project management
- Ensure full, transparent and appropriate communication to and from all stakeholders throughout the programme life cycle.
- Adhere to appropriate escalation processes to escalate resource issues, delayed project phases, missed deadlines and other planning issues and prepare regular status reports.
- Contribute to creating a positive experience for all stakeholders involved in the Programme.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the programme leadership team when you have the capability to perform or learn.
- Undertake any other tasks that are required to support the successful delivery of the overall programme.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
- Experience of the insurance/financial services industry is highly desirable.
- Experience of working across divisions in a multinational company is preferred.
- Flexible approach to work and strong team player.
- Prior consulting experience is a plus.
