Nationwide firm that works in a hybrid/remote capacity, looking for a Senior Consultant who has experience in several key accounting areas (see below)

Responsibilities
  • Helps to identify, assess, and analyze business challenges within the Finance and Accounting organization requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Reviews clients' current close documentation and engages the close team, defines future state process, and advises on best practices for close management
  • Contributes knowledge and best practices of key accounting related business processes (e.g., Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Financial Close, etc.)
  • Opportunities to support various Business Transformation projects including (but not limited to): system strategy and selection, process or finance improvement and optimization, operations performance improvement, change management, program or project management, data analytics, business analysis
  • Holds team accountable and drives change through effective project management
  • Assesses and escalates project issues, risks, or conflicts to leadership and suggests resolutions
  • Proactively partners with CrossCountry Consulting's leadership team on internal projects, including but not limited to the following: sales/marketing initiatives, recruiting, training, and organizational development
  • Assists with integrations and identifying efficiencies between the client's accounting systems and other tools.
  • Optimization of client's use of leading close management process and tools
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • 2-3+ years' experience in professional services (public accounting or advisory firm), preferably at a large, global accounting firm or with a management consulting firm or related corporate experience
  • Finance or accounting background with knowledge of General Ledger and Sub-ledger concepts preferred (e.g., Chart of Accounts, Journal Entries, Intercompany transfers and allocations, AP, AR, trial balance data, General Ledger, Procurement, and Asset Management)
  • Excellent communication skills required - must develop, implement, and maintain sources of project information, communicating appropriate information to client as well as other team members
  • Functional and technical proficiency
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: accounting (e.g., financial reporting, operational accounting, accounting policy, transactions, etc.), business transformation (e.g., process optimization, finance transformation, change management, operations and performance improvement, project management, etc.)
  • Experience using a Financial System and/or designing and facilitating setup and configuration of one or more modules (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Procurement, Expenses)
  • Demonstrated track record of establishing credibility both internally and externally
  • Passionate about building, developing, motivating, and leading others
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to think from a "big picture" perspective
  • Creativity, confidence, and flexibility
  • High energy, tenacious, enthusiastic, and an entrepreneurial spirit
Travel
  • A Note on Travel: For the past year+ we have delivered projects remotely with much success, though we do plan to travel again in the near future. Our approach is different in that we are purposeful in scheduling on-site visits with clients around their unique needs rather than the standard Monday-Thursday travel schedule that you'll find at other large firms. We expect travel to be roughly 20-25% (could be more or less) but we'll continue to monitor this area and adapt as needed.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other technical discipline
  • CPA preferred, or CPA eligible
