Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Linux - MUST have current SC Clearance
3 month initial contract - Inside IR35 - South Wales
Our client is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer who will be there to support and implement all existing and future Linux infrastructure across the client estates. The role as Senior Infrastructure Engineer will involve supporting the end to end provisioning, monitoring and decommissioning of the physical servers or server farms.
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Lead and be responsible for:
- Managing any incidents, requests, changes and problems
- Proactively monitor the environments for issues
- Server Availability Planning in line with requirements
- Administration and enhancement of the environment and its supportability, for example: administration of user accounts, control the network access integrity, manage the data, in terms of space allocated to data, access authorisations, SAN, optimisation
You will require:
- Demonstrable experience of VMWare, Windows servers in an administration, operations and support
- Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems RedHat Enterprise and CentOS
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Linux/Unix administration
- Working knowledge of Monitoring tools such as CheckMK/Nagios/Splunk
