Oliver James have partnered with a leading General Insurance firm to appoint a Senior Risk Analyst onto their Enterprise Risk Management Team.
This role will sit in a small but growing function and report to the Chief Risk Officer based locally you will be responsible for delivering key elements of the ERM framework including key risk assessments, risk reporting and developing the role of Risk in key areas of the business.
The successful candidate will have a varied and balanced day to day and have the following duties within their remit;
- Production of quarterly risk reports, including liaison with the business to collate the Risk Appetite metrics. Ensure appropriate action plans and follow up.
- Provide the Risk opinion and advice in various forums and committees.
- Maintain oversight of new business and IT projects to ensure that risks are being addressed.
- Develop and provide Risk training and awareness activities.
- Develop the role of Risk in other areas, e.g. Underwriting Governance.
- Provide Risk support for development and implementation of various Risk Management Frameworks, e.g. Outsourcing and Operational Resilience.
- Support the 'top down' and 'bottom up' risk assessments and associated assurance activity.
- Support the identification, reporting and management of incidents and risk issues.
- Support the maintenance of the risk policy suite including the risk appetite and development of appropriate risk indicators.
- Support the production of other key risk management and governance processes, e.g. support for the ORSA.
- Support the running of the Management Risk and Compliance Committee.
- Support team members to meet objectives and develop their skillset.
- Assist in Central Bank of Ireland inspections or risk assessments, as they relate to risk activities.
- Assist business units with ad-hoc projects from a risk-management standpoint.
- Take part in and support risk initiatives across the the Group.
This role would suit a strong Operational/Enterprise Risk, internal control or internal audit candidate preferably coming from an insurance or financial service background. You will also be an excellent communicator and team player as our client places a huge emphasis on culture.
