Oliver James are currently partnered with a Swiss Software Engineering and IT Consulting business, with offices in several locations nationwide. The business focus on supporting IT Software Solutions with a variety of clients in sectors such as healthcare, insurance, governance & public administration.
At this time, we are working closely with the business in search of a Software Development Team Lead in Zurich or Bern. In addition to leading, coaching, mentoring and inspiring a team of 4-7 Software Engineers, your role will also be hands on with the development of their software and enterprise architectures. You will be working with exciting and innovative customer projects within a fast paced environment and expanding markets. Your role:
- Oversee the development of sophisticated Software / JEE applications & enterprise architectures
- Leading a Software Development team of roughly 4 - 7 mid to senior Software Engineers, including coaching & mentoring for their career development
- Creation, design and end to end development of solutions in cooperation with customers and clients
- Collaboration in the technical development of Software Engineering
- Involvement in sub-project management and implementation of cost estimates
Requirements:
- Higher education in Computer Science or a similar field of study (BSc, MSc, PhD)
- 7+ years of experience in developing software solutions with technical focus on Java technologies and/or open source frameworks, alongside experience in agile software development
- Experience in management of Software Development teams (either as Team Lead, Project Manager or other)
- Technical knowledge of: Java frameworks, Spring, Hibernate, application servers (Tomcat, JBoss), cloud technologies (docker, openshift, Kubernetes) & database technologies (oracle, mySQL)
- Fluent German & English
