Datacentre & Cloud Engineer - Azure, Terraform
Location: Fully Remote (Client based in London)
Salary: £65,000 + bonus/benefits
We are in search of a highly skilled and motivated Datacentre & Cloud Engineer to join a dynamic Technology Services Production team. As a key player, you will contribute to the growth, stability, security, and scalability of the datacentre, cloud, and office infrastructure, with a primary focus on Microsoft platforms. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects, develop your skills, provide expert-level support, and contribute to the expansion of our cloud-based services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure to deploy and manage resources, ensuring high availability, security, and cost optimization.
- Leverage infrastructure as code practices to automate the provisioning and management of datacentre, cloud, and office resources using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or equivalent.
- Act as a 3rd line support resource for complex infrastructure issues, diagnosing and resolving incidents efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and assess resource utilization, recommend scaling strategies, and optimize infrastructure for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls, identity management, and compliance standards, to safeguard our infrastructure.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in Terraform and Azure, with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure.
- Experience in Kubernetes or Docker, showcasing expertise in containerization and orchestration.
- DevOps experience is desirable, demonstrating seamless integration and deployment processes.
- Prior experience in migrating on-premises infrastructure to Azure.
- Successful track record of large-scale migrations, having moved 1/8 data centers to Azure.
- Competence in monitoring Azure environments to ensure optimal performance and security.
