We are in search of an adept Controller to join one of our most prestigious clients within the P&C Insurance space. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Statutory Accounting principles, coupled with strong financial management skills, to oversee all financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Produce accurate and timely financial statements, adhering to Statutory Accounting principles, while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

  2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts, meticulously tracking financial performance against projections.

  3. Compliance: Maintain rigorous adherence to regulatory standards and reporting obligations, including statutory filings, to uphold the company's compliance framework.

  4. Internal Controls: Establish and uphold robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and uphold the accuracy and reliability of financial data, with a focus on statutory reporting requirements.

  5. Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, emphasizing statutory metrics, to inform strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for operational improvement and growth.

  6. Audit Management: Coordinate external audits, liaising closely with auditors to facilitate efficient audit processes and address any statutory accounting considerations.

  7. Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  8. Strategic Planning: Offer valuable financial insights and analysis to support strategic initiatives and business expansion opportunities, with a particular emphasis on statutory compliance implications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience in accounting and financial management, with a proven track record in the insurance industry, emphasizing expertise in Statutory Accounting principles.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for insurance companies, particularly related to statutory reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and communication skills.
