DevOps Engineer | Greenfield IoT Projects | Energy | Zurich
This is an exciting opportunity to work for an small/medium sized energy company based in Zuirch who are taking on a series of greenfield projects. You will work on a range of IoT devices that are widely used across Europe, these devices are directly integrated into homes in order to suggest cost or energy saving methods. While there this company have very good connections across Europe there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
In this role you will be improving on existing and creating new infrastructure to support the high levels of traffic on this cloud platform. There is a high standard of development, best practices are expected to be followed and well documented. A successful candidate will have several years experience in the DevOps industry and extensive experience working with AWS and kubernetes. In this role you will do some scripting (python or linux) but this is will not be a key focus area.
You will work as a part of a team of 4+ engineers (x3 in Zurich and x1 in Italy) in an agile scrum methodology and communicate in English. A successful candidate must be able to work as part of a team and as an individual; this is a product focused team so candidates must be proactive in their work. Generally there is a lot of trust placed in individuals which gives a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
This role requires you to work from the Zurich office as often as needed, generally there is a flexible culture but the time spent in office will vary based on projects/case by case basis. You will be able to work from anywhere in Europe for up to 10 days per year. There are opportunities for progression in this company but engineers will be in charge of their own learning.
Must: AWS, Kubernetes, Git, SQL databases, Python or object orientated language
