Overview:

Join our client, a leading investment management company, in Boston, MA, as they seek a dynamic Fund Controller to join their team! This role offers a hybrid working schedule and responsible for overseeing private equity operations. The ideal candidate will possess over 7 years of experience in private equity, private credit, or private debt fund accounting, along with a demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations of investment funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
  • Act as a key liaison with third-party administrators and investors, addressing inquiries and ensuring transparent communication.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, coordinating with auditors as necessary.
  • Lead a team of 5 finance professionals, providing mentorship and guidance in their roles.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function, staying informed on industry developments and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in fund accounting or financial reporting within the private equity or private credit industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Investran/Allvue and other financial software systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to investment funds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices.
