Our client is a market leading insurer with strong presence in this region. They are looking for a seasoned qualified actuary to lead the Risk team. This role will directly report to C-suite management.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the risk management strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in alignment with the company's objectives.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to the risk management team, fostering a culture of risk awareness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and enhance risk management policies, frameworks, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analysis, identifying potential areas of vulnerability and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with senior management and cross-functional teams to integrate risk management practices into business strategies and decision-making processes.
- Monitor and report on key risk indicators, providing insights and recommendations to senior management to optimize risk-reward trade-offs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks, proactively adapting risk management practices to address evolving challenges.
Requirements:
- Qualified Actuary with Proven experience (ideally 10+ years) in risk management roles within the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, successfully leading and developing risk management teams.
- Strong communication and influencing abilities, with the capability to effectively engage and advise stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex risk landscapes.
- Sound knowledge of risk management frameworks, tools, and methodologies, along with familiarity with industry best practices.
