Oliver James Associates are working on behalf of a global reinsurer. They are seeking an actuarial analyst or an experienced insurance data analyst to support their actuarial commercial teams.
This is a uniquely positioned commercial role. It would allow the successful applicant to work alongside Longevity, Pricing and Reporting teams - understanding their requirements and uses for data. This role is project based, so would require a fairly independent individual who can use initiative to deliver on objectives. Its equally important for applicants to enjoy building and maintaining internal relationships, as this role has excellent exposure across the business.
The team are looking to utilise more sophisticated coding tools/machine learning - any applicants with knowledge of Python or R would be able to add value to this process, candidates without will be trained.
Requirements
- Insurance/Consultancy experience
- Student actuary, candidates without actuarial exams but relevant insurance data analytics experience can be considered
- Must have SQL experience, VBA and Excel experience also required
- As mentioned, ability to work in a project based team - creating value through building and maintaining internal relationships
