Job Title: Solutions Architect (Java-focused)
Job Type: 6-month rolling contract engagement - extension very likely
Location: Dublin (1-2 times per month on-site required)
Overview:
Oliver James have partnered with a leading financial services client who are seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect with a strong focus on Java development and extensive experience in high-level design. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in solutions architecture within the banking and financial services domain.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Design, develop, and implement Java-based solutions aligned with business objectives and architectural standards.
Conduct architectural assessments, identify risks, and propose mitigating strategies.
Lead and participate in technical discussions, providing guidance and expertise on Java development best practices.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and system documentation.
Evaluate emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance system performance, scalability, and security.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions and alignment with overall architecture.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the FS domain.
Proven experience in high-level design, including system architecture and API design.
A deep understanding of regulatory compliance and security requirements.
Proficiency in designing and implementing microservices architectures, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and propose scalable solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent are a plus.
