Job Role & Responsibilities



A permanent job position is available in XYZ Insurance's Underwriting department for the role of Senior Underwriter - Allied Healthcare. As an underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing risk factors associated with casualty insurance policies specific to the allied healthcare industry. Your responsibilities will include:



  • Evaluating applications and determining policy terms and coverage.
  • Assessing risk quality and compiling accurate risk profiles.
  • Reviewing policy documents and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with brokers and clients to provide underwriting expertise and guidance throughout the policy lifecycle.
  • Analyzing market trends and emerging risks to develop and implement effective underwriting strategies.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including insurance agents, brokerages, and insured parties.





Key Skills



The successful candidate for this role should possess:



  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in underwriting within the insurance industry, preferably in the casualty segment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Sound knowledge of underwriting guidelines, insurance regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, brokers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and underwriting software.
