Sustainable Lead

Our client's commitment to a comprehensive and innovative sustainability approach is a core element of their strategic vision, grounded in their core values. The client has developed a sustainability strategy built upon the pillars of Building Resilience, Leading from their Culture, and Advancing Transition. As part of their expansion in this area, they are introducing a new role - Sustainable Lead.

In this dynamic position, you will directly report to Head of Sustainability and actively contribute to the implementation of the companies Sustainability Strategy. Your responsibilities will involve collaboration with various functions internally and engagement with external stakeholders to propel the clients sustainability initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of Climatewise reports and steer the development of the firm's reporting in alignment with TCFD (Task Force for Climate-Related Financial Disclosure) and CSRD (EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) guidelines.
  • Establish a robust framework for the management and monitoring of ESG-related metrics and targets.
  • Contribute to both internal and external ESG-related reporting efforts, either as standalone reports or as part of broader risk assessments.
  • Expand the utilization of external data services across the organization for transition planning and ESG assessments.
  • Foster internal awareness of ESG issues within the company, cultivating a sustainable culture.
  • Assist the risk function in identifying and managing climate-related risks.
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability Leadership Team in identifying business opportunities related to climate initiatives.
  • Support external engagement initiatives with partners and collaboration opportunities, such as Climatewise and the Insurance Development Forum.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise Required:

  • Prior experience in insurance sector, preferably in a role related to ESG or risk management.
  • Strong understanding of the ESG agenda, with the ability to comprehend evolving ESG directives and collaborate across the organization for effective reporting. Experience in TCFD reporting is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
