JOB TITLE: Commercial Underwriter/Senior Underwriter - National Accounts
The company:
Oliver James is currently partnered with a reputable insurance carrier looking to hire experienced underwriters to their National Accounts team sitting in their Downtown Chicago location.
The role:
At this time, they are looking to engage with both Underwriters and Senior Underwriters. The successful Underwriter will be currently sitting at a commercial insurance carrier and will bring a minimum of 2+ years of proven commercial underwriting experience. This is a HYBRID position that will require 3 days in office on a per week basis.
As a Underwriter/Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the profitability, growth, and retention of a book of business
- Underwriting and negotiating complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability
- Building and maintaining relationships with external partners to sell insurance products with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with the carriers appetite
The Underwriter/Senior Underwriter should have the following skills:
- 2+ years of Commercial Underwriting/Insurance experience
- Retail agency relationships
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience
- Willingness to travel to agency visits and meetings
