Underwriting Operations Technician | Specialty Insurer | London
My client is a Specialty insurer based in the City of London who are going through rapid growth and are in the market seeking a Underwriting Operations Technician to join their Underwriting Team.
They are looking for someone to support the oversight of their underwriting management functions and Underwriting Governance.
Role:
- Oversee adherence to underwriting controls and exceptions.
- Support and assist queries related to underwriting procedures.
- Collate and maintain the underwriting exceptions ruleset.
- Regularly review and enhance exception rules to meet market and regulatory needs.
- Assist in producing syndicate returns in line with regulatory reporting timetables.
- Prepare meeting packs and timely reports for committee and internal deadlines.
- Support the enhancement of Management Information (MI) standards and recommend system improvements.
- Administer and issue underwriting licenses.
Skills Needed:
- Experience in underwriting or operations within a Lloyd's Syndicate or Managing Agent.
- Familiarity with underwriting systems, management information, and reporting.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance provisions relevant to the insurance market.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills for cultivating and sustaining value-adding relationships.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to convey a clear sense of purpose and confidence with internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortably handle difficult conversations and articulate the essence of mutually beneficial relationships.
